So, what's her backstory? Snoopy kid who plays dress up and beats on bad guys or transplanted heroine from an alternate Golden Age universe?

Fun fact: her brother Billy had a romantic infatuation with little Janie's alter-ego, while constantly putting her down.  What a putz!
